{sao paulo: cafe mania}

Having mornings 'free' in Sao Paulo meant I could work remotely from just about anywhere. I love exploring local cafes in cities and thats just exactly what I did. For my 6 day stay, every morning, I visited a cafe used their free wi-fi, drank a prodigious amount of tea and watched people. Local cafes are a great way watch locals, understand different customs and in general, be more of a part of the community. Here were my top choices:

{Havana Cafe}
R. Bela Cintra, 1829 São Paulo - SP, 01415-002, Brazil
A cute cafe with a great outdoor place. Not my favorite but it did the trick for my first day choice. It is right by Oscar Friede - which is the Rodeo Drive of Sao Paulo - which I don't really understand who can afford anything on that street. Anyway, the Rue Bela Cintra is also a beautiful street with great sunlight. The store on the other side of the street is a Brazilian/Argentinean Wine store & cafe and it is a beautifully done. It's maroon walls in the morning creates an amazing shadow through the street onto the cafe. Havana Cafe has great selection of coffee and tea but nothing fancy for breakfast other than a few sandwiches.

{V Cafe: Livraria Cultura}
Av.Paulista, 2073 - São Paulo - SP, 01311-940, Brazil
Oh..I loved this place. Not only for the cafe itself but the setting. This is a cafe set inside an outstanding library/bookstore. Amazing architecture with an great collection, the cafe just adds to the already stupendous environment. Excellent cha options with a few snacks that do the trick for a light breakfast. Eclectic crowd visits the cafe- from students to working professionals. A great place to meet & greet Paulistanos.

{Le Vin Patisserie}
Alameda Tietê, 178, São Paulo - SP, 01417-020, Brazil
An extremely neat little cafe with buttery croissants and a good breakfast menu that will almost have you convinced you're in a Paris cafe. Nestled in a corner of the cafe, I throughly enjoyed my morning hours there with tea and eggs benedict. Would be one of my favorite choices to revisit on my next trip.

{Octavio Cafe}
Av. Brigadeiro Faria Lima, 2.996 - Jd. Paulistano, SP, Brazil
A mecca for coffee lovers! Excellent grinds (or so my husband says on my return) in a massive coffee bean shaped oval room. While the atmosphere is to die for, the crazy architecture is no less. The ramp to the toilets are embedded with coffee-facts that light up with your each step. Little bigger than my choice for a morning visit but would be great for lunch or an evening meet & greet.
