{five days of Jon: day 2 - sweet tooth}

Jon's not fond of sweet or a better way to say it would be, he staunchly avoids all foods sugary and processed. So, to make a desert he liked is mighty hard. I usually look at a normal recipe and adapt it to things Jon might have. I got this yummy chocolate desert from Sunday Suppers. Here is how I made it and while super rich, Jon loved, loved.

{chocolate and orange pot de creme with almond cream}
Serves 2 to 4
11/2 cups whole milk
2 eggs
11/2 cups sugar-free chocolate chips
a pinch of salt
2 tbl triple sec
i juice of blood orange
1/2 cup whipping cream
1/2 tsp almond extract
2 tbl splenda

Bring the milk to a simmer in a sauce pan. Put eggs, salt, chocolate, liqueur and orange juice in a blender. Pulse till smooth. Slowly add the hot milk and blend. Pour into small bowls and chill for about an hour.

Whip whipping cream, extract and splenda until thick cream forms. Serve on top of the pot de creme with a mint leaf for garnish.

Enjoy!!
